Talking with Reuters, Nysschen said that a single new car called the Cadillac CT5 will change the existing XTS, CTS and ATS sedans. The three models, which will not have direct replacements, end their life process in 2019. The Cadillac CT5 is expected to be a new addition to the lineup at some point in 2019 or 2020.

The 2019 Cadillac CT5 will be slightly smaller than the CT6, so it’s not unexpected that the CT5 replaces the CTS, however it’s a little shocking that when the CT5 arrives, the smaller sized ATS and the Larger XTSs will leave the range when the life cycle of their current iterations ends. The ATS will not have a direct replacement, however there is a new smaller sized luxury sedan planned in the future that will be positioned under the CT5 in the brand name portfolio. To puts it simply, while the CT5 and the new little sedan would not technically replace the CTS, XTS and ATS, these 3 vehicles will not continue in a new generation while the CT5 and the little unnamed sedan will fill the slots under the CT6.
